US rapper Macklemore has released a new track in support of Palestine as well as to students protesting at American universities against Israel’s activity in Gaza.
The song "Hind's Hall" was released on Tuesday, May 7, and calls out President Joe Biden, the police, and the music industry.
The song's title references the Columbia University campus building, known as Hamilton Hall that's been nicknamed "Hind's Hall' by occupying student protesters in tribute to Hind Rajab, a six-year-old Palestinian girl killed in Gaza.
Last week New York police arrested more than 100 people protesting at Columbia.

In the track, Macklemore criticized Biden for not doing more to negotiate a ceasefire and stop Israel's attacks on Gaza, The rapper also accused the rest of the music industry of not weighing in on the issues.
The song has gained widespread support online and has been "liked" over 2 million times on Instagram.
Macklemore, whose real name is Ben Haggarty, announced on X that all streaming proceeds from "Hind's Hall" will be donated to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees.
Campus protests in support of Palestine have been taking place across the world including in Ireland.
Since last Friday (May 3) student protesters have set up an encampment at Trinity College Dublin over the institution’s ties to Israel.
The campus in Dublin city center, which hosts the Book of Kells, has been closed to the public since Friday night when students erected tents near the tourist attraction.
According to The Irish Times, following a meeting on Wednesday afternoon (May 8), protest leaders told the encampment that the college has agreed to work towards their demands.
However, they have said they would not officially leave the encampment until the university published its own statement.
