Irish American comedian Kathy Griffin has defended her friendship with controversial porn star and stripper Stormy Daniels.
To the shock of many, the flame-haired TV personality told Jimmy Kimmel that she spoke to Daniels hours after her highly publicized arrest earlier this week.
But how did the duo meet in the first place? Griffins revealed that she met the blonde bombshell last month in Boston.
They notably joined forces after Griffin's show to send a message to President Trump. The adult film star has been associated with Trump in an alleged affair she had with him over a decade ago.
Griffin added that when the duo met in Boston, she said, "Hi Thelma, I’m Louise — let’s take this a**hole down,’” referring, of course, to President Trump.
According to Griffin, the pals then spent the night "talking like schoolgirls".
“We become friends obviously, God love her," 57-year-old Griffin continued.
“She had consensual sex with the orange idiot. My theory is, being a porn girl she was like, ‘Look this’ll take five minutes, let’s get it over with.’ But, every time I would tease her about his actual man parts, she would just go ‘Urgh!’ So, of course we get along!”
Griffin also spoke about the aftermath of Daniels' arrest at a strip club in Ohio earlier this week.
According to online court records obtained by the Washington Post, the 39-year-old was charged with three misdemeanor counts of touching a patron in a “sexually oriented” manner, in violation of the state's strip club law.
It is reported that the controversial starlet thrust undercover police officers' faces into her bare breasts during the show at Sirens Gentlemen's Club in Columbus. NBC confirm that Daniels was released hours later before daybreak, on $6,000 bail.
However, Griffin told host Jimmy Kimmel that Daniels has assured her she is perfectly fine after the incident.
Griffin revealed that Daniels has already returned to the road, with more dates lined up.
"She's back on the pole, baby, back on the pole," Griffin confirmed.
NBC confirm that Daniels indeed wasted no time before performing again.
The outlet reports that she was onstage at Vanity Gentlemen's Club, also in Ohio, on Thursday night.
Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, is currently embroiled in a legal battle with President Trump. She revealed earlier this year that his attorneys paid her $130,000 a month to keep details of their illicit 2006 encounter quiet in the lead up to the 2016 presidential election.
Daniels is suing to invalidate the nondisclosure agreement.
