2025 is shaping up to be the year of historical dramas with not one but two sizzling series in the works.

The first, Outrageous, aims to be an accurate portrayal of the scandalous Mitford sisters, including Diana, who married Bryan Guinness before leaving him for Fascist leader Oswald Mosley.

The second series, expected to land in 2025, delves more closely into the Guinness clan. With a stellar cast and a riveting storyline, House of Guinness is shaping up to be one of the must watch shows in a long time and here's what you need to know heard of the release.

What's it all about?

An inheritance feud that makes Succession look tame. The story follows the fallout in the famed Guinness family after Sir Benjamin Guinness' death.

Benjamin was the grandson of the Guinness brewery founder, Arthur, and the story follows the aftermath of his will that upends the lives of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne and Ben.

House of Guinness also introduces us to a group of Dubliners whose life and work revolves around Guinness. The script is being penned by Steve Knight.

Commenting on the script, Anne Mensah, Vice President of UK Content, Netflix, said that his scripts, 'read like pages torn out of a classic novel, spinning the story of the four heirs to the Guinness fortune, and how their lives and loves are changed by it overnight.

'We cannot wait to see this story come to life through Tom Shankland's inspired vision and his breathtaking cast.'

 Speaking of the cast, some huge names are set to appear in House of Guinness, including Happy Valley's James Norton who plays Sean Rafferty and is having the best time filming the show.

'It's got beer. It's got this eccentric family. We've got these Steven Knight characters, all kinds of jostling and playing, fighting, f*****g. It's just, like, really exciting,' he told Digital Spy.

Dervla Kirwan also stars as Aunt Agnes Guinness, and Jack Gleeson as Byron Hedges.

As to who plays the Guinness family, Masters of Air star Anthony Boyle plays Arthur, Normal People's Fionn O'Shea stars as Benjamin, Louis Partridge as Edward, and Emily Fairn as Anne.

How many episodes are there, and where can I watch it?

House of Guinness runs across eight episodes and will be available on Netflix.

When will it be released?

No release date for House of Guinness has been announced yet, but it is expected to be sometime in 2025, so watch this space.
