Cillian Murphy is the newest face for the Men’s Versace Icons Selection.

Murphy, who donned Atelier Versace when he won his first-ever Oscar, was announced as the new talent of Versace Icons line last month, and the global campaign launched today, April 3.

This isn't the Cork native's first fashion campaign - he previously starred in a spot for Stella McCartney.

"Collaborating with Donatella [Versace] - from sharing image references to selecting the music of Fountains D.C. for the video - resulted in a campaign that reflects who I am," Murphy said in a statement.

"The collection of well cut, empowering designs made from great fabric suits me perfectly."

A clip for the new Men's Versace Icons Selection campaign shows Murphy working the camera during the shoot.

"I avoid the monitor when I'm making films," he says in the Versace spot, "because it's a different character, you know?"

He adds: "You never want to, kind of, affect what your journey is."

As Murphy noted in his statement, his Versace clip features the song "Boys In The Better Land" by the Dublin-based post-punk rock band Fontaines D.C.

In her own Instagram post, Donatella Versace, creative director at the world-famous Italian label, sang Murphy's praises: "When I saw Cillian on the set of the shoot, I saw the Versace man in him right away. Strong, direct and iconic!

"Cillian is one of today’s best actors and I admire and respect him so much. I hope you all love the campaign as much as we loved shooting it."

Donatella heaped on more praise in a subsequent Instagram post where shared some behind-the-scenes footage of the campaign shoot.

"I learn so much from those who I work with and Cillian is no exception," the fashion guru said.
