Want to know how to tell somebody you love them or get that drunk to move out of your way in Irish on Saint Patrick’s Day? Miranda the Adventurer and the Los Angeles Gaelic League teach some useful Irish language phrases.  

Saint Patrick’s Day is the perfect time of year to start learning Irish when Seachtain na Gaeilge (The Week of the Irish Language) is in full swing and everyone is eager to use their cúpla focal.

This year, in particular, the official Year of the Irish Language is an extra added bonus for anybody who wants to start out on their Irish-language-learning career with plenty of events taking place all over the world for the celebration of 125 years since the start of the Irish revival movement.

To help you get started, travel and adventure vlogger Miranda the Adventurer teamed up with Catríona from the Gaelic League in Los Angeles to learn some basic Irish phrases and the Irish language phrases that are essential for March 17, including “Would you like a Guinness?”
