The New York Irish Center is hosting the inaugural New York Irish Center Scavenger Hunt 2015 this June.

The scavenger hunt will take place in Long Island City, Queens, with the HQ at the offices of the New York Irish Center, on Jackson Avenue and the 12 blocks of Vernon. This includes shops, business services and restaurants.

According to the organizers the scavenger hunt aims to increase business activity for the Vernon and Jackson Avenue areas of Long Island City, promote Long Island City Partnership services and membership and promote New York Irish Center activities and services during its 10 year anniversary.

Hunters should bring their mobile phones. Scavenger hunters will be given 20 clues that will bring them to Long Island City business and services.

Scavenger hunters need to:

1. Answer the clue correctly

2. The business or services needs to confirm they were in the shop by signing the questionnaire

3. Take a photograph at the business or services with their phone. This will be uploaded to the scavenger hunt Facebook page and Twitter account.

If the hunters answer all 20 clues correctly and get back to the New York Irish Center first they will win the grand prize. Second and third will win prizes as well. During the day there will be plenty of spot prizes. The prizes will come from Long Island City business and prizes.

The hunt is set for Saturday, June 13, at 2pm.

Entry fee is $10 per person ($40 per group).
