The deal, worth a reported €6m, has just been given the go ahead from Ireland’s Central Bank. It sees the Brisbane based EML obtain just under 75 percent of the Irish company which has offices in Galway and Wicklow.

EML, which operates in over 20 countries, also announced PerfectCard’s Galway base will act as its global hub for technology and innovation. Its expected that there will be an increase in full-time employees over the next few years too. “

Nikki will stay on in her role as CEO of PerfectCard and will also look after EML European Issuing. She’s made it clear that the company headquarters will stay in Ireland, saying:

“While we will have a majority shareholder somewhere else, the heart and mind of the company has to remain in Ireland and I don’t see that changing.”
