Let’s face it, what with the recession, the weather, your job and the times we live in it’s getting harder to meet someone as all our lives get busier. That’s why Nathan Kingerlee, 27, an enterprising young Irish man from Kenmare, County Kerry came up with a brilliant plan.

Since he was already running Outdoors Ireland, a highly successful adventure holiday company based in the southwest of Ireland he thought, why not combine Cupid with a kayak? What better way really to set out on the sea of love?

So next month, soon after St. Valentine’s Day, Kingerlee will lead a group of 30 brave men and women (evenly divided into groups of 15 of either sex) on the second annual Outdoors Ireland Singles Adventure Weekend on the 27 and 28th of February.

It will be a weekend full of adventure, suitable for all levels and all tastes (you won’t have to be fit as a Marine). The emphasis is firmly on meeting fun, like-minded people, whilst you simultaneously enjoy delicious food and comfortable accommodation.

In the evenings you’ll enjoy lively conversation and great Craic (the Irish word for fun) at the local hotspots, staying just outside the town of Killarney, nestled in the South West of Ireland.
“This will be an opportunity for like-minded people to meet and socialize over a fun, relaxed weekend, while taking part in adventure sports such as kayaking and rock climbing,” Kingerlee told Irish Central.

Last year the first Singles Weekend went very well, with 27 people participating. “We had a 50/50 split of guys and girls’’ said Nathan ‘‘and out of the 27 people we had one couple who are still together.”
