Low-cost airline WOW Air has announced new Irish routes to the U.S. West Coast.

The Icelandic-based carrier will fly from Dublin to Los Angeles four times per week and to San Francisco five times a week starting summer 2016./

The company already flies from Boston dn Baltimore to Irelnd. All planes stop in Iceland bfore going on to Dublin

Newstalk reports that the flights will be serviced by three new Airbus A330-300 aircrafts, which carry 340 passengers and are the first wide-body planes in the airline's fleet.

"The decision by WOW air to make this move strategically is because now is the right time to do so. Iceland is perfectly located to act as a transatlantic hub between Europe and the U.S. which is evident due to our current services to Boston, Baltimore and Washington performing so well,” says WOW Air CEO Skúli Mogensen

Aer Lingus also announced new flights to Los Angeles earlier this year, making California more accessible than ever for Irish travelers.
