Rolling Stone magazine has joined with an Irish businessman to open a theme restaurant in Hollywood.

Niall Donnelly, a Dublin businessman who has opened 12 clubs and bars in Britain, will be at the helm of the 10,000 square-foot venue which will be called 'Rolling Stone' with the Irish entrepreneur set to open the restaurant in Hollywood next year.He made the announcement Friday with Rolling Stone founder Jan Wenner

“For those who love music and pop culture, the words ‘Rolling Stone’ continue to mean so much to so many people around the world, especially in the U.S.,” said Donnelly.

“We are both excited and determined to bring the spirit of the magazine to life -- the edginess, the coolness, the classiness and the timelessness -- in making this venue a place to see and be seen in.”

The restaurant will open in the summer of 2010 at the Hollywood & Highland shopping center, which is also the home to the Kodak Theatre where the Academy Awards have been held in recent years.

The new Rolling Stone will not re use decorative memorabilia like the Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood and the food will be more high end.

The restaurant and bar will capitalize on the huge numbers of tourists who visit Hollywood each .There will be an exclusive VIP lounge upstairs as well.
