Arklow 3-6

St. Brigid's 0-2

IN the game between Arklow's under-14 squad and St, Brigid's it was a reverse of the previous day's result between the same squads, with the Geraldine's going all the way in a commanding performance to take home their first piece of silverware of Sunday's finals.

St. Brigid's had the first point of the game from Cassie Fitzgerald, but it was the only time during the contest that they led the way. A pair of goals for Arklow from Erinne Murphy and Shauna Fleming opened a substantial lead for the visitors, with points coming from Aine O'Reilly (two) and Murphy again.

The game was played at pace with both sides also missing scoring chances. St. Brigid's, despite the lopsided scoreline, was certainly playing an active part in the game, with Amanda McGovern, Brianna Tierney and Noelle Brophy impressing.

Scores were hard to come by, however, against a stingy defense where Naomi Roche and Hannah Tew were in impressive form. Further scores by Georgina Kavanagh and Murphy secured the victory in the second half with New York's only reply, a Tierney free for a point.
