Rory McIlroy shot a last round 68 for a tournament total of two over par and a tie for tenth place, while Graeme McDowell shot a 74 to finish up four over par for the tournament in a tie for 18th.

McIlroy had a fine last round and shot right up the leaderboard with one of the low scores of the day.  McDowell will be disappointed with his final round at the U.S. Open, as there was an opportunity to challenge had he shot a round in the red figures.

Lucas Glover is the U.S. Open champion after winning the tournament by two strokes.

Co-leaders overnight Glover (73) and Ricky Barnes (76) both shot over par rounds that allowed several players back into the frame, most notably Phil Mickelson and David Duval.

However, none of the challengers could capitalize on the faltering leaders and Glover's final round 73 was enough to win the second major of the year.
