Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni has named a 25-man for the friendly against Nigeria and the World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria.

As preparation for the Bulgaria match in Sofia on June 6, the team will play Nigeria in a friendly in Craven Cottage on May 29.

Only 22 players will be selected for the final squad to travel out to Bulgaria, so three members of the original squad will miss out.

Among those to earn debut call-up's under Trapattoni are Preston North End's Sean St Ledger, Stoke City's Liam Lawrence, and Coventry City's Leon Best.

Reading's Kevin Doyle has been included despite struggling with an Achilles injury, while Liam Miller makes the cut even though his club, QPR, recently announced that they would be releasing him.

Wolverhampton Wanderers right-back Kevin Foley and Preston North End defender Eddie Nolan will be hoping to win their first caps in the friendly against Nigeria and push for a place in the final squad.
