Ireland defeated Italy in Dublin yesterday in a one-sided game in Croke Park that Ireland dominated throughout.

After playing a brilliant first half, the home team fizzled out in the second but managed to stay ahead. Ireland led 23-8 at half time and 26-8 early in the second half.

Ronan O'Gara was in outstanding kicking form, and a great try by Jamie Heaslip set the stage for the Irish victory.

So it was victory for Ireland,  with a score of  29 to Italy’s 11.
