St. Joseph's Gaelic football club of Bergen County, New Jersey is starting its 38th spring season and is looking for players of all ages.
The club is affiliated with the New York Minor Board and fields teams from under-16 down to under-10 (under-8 plays tournaments and exhibition only.)
The 2008 season was very successful with the under-10 and under-12 teams each taking the Division B championship on June 14 at Gaelic Park. Both teams also made a strong showing at the annual CYC tournament that was held in Philadelphia.
Though St. Joseph's didn't field an under-14 team last season, the under-16s had a fair season.
Failing to make the league playoffs, they managed to take the cup at the CYC tournament and three players, John Quinn, James Doherty and Mike O Reilly, were selected to play on the New York all-star team.
The all-stars traveled to Ireland to compete in the Feile Peil na Og. All three boys were starting players and made major contributions toward the team's victory in the competition.
