His dad might be a major rap star, but Cordell Broadus is poised to make his mark in a different field: Notre Dame’s football field, to be specific.

Are his coaches excited? Fo’ shizzle, as Snoop Dogg (now Snoop Lion) would say.

The high school junior, a standout star on the Diamond Bar H.S. football team, has already received a scholarship offer from Notre Dame to join its Fighting Irish squad after he graduates in 2015.

At 6 ft., 3 inches and 186 pounds, Broadus is considered a hot prospect in college recruiting circles. The Chicago Tribune reports that the teenage receiver  is a four-star prospect in Rival.com’s Class of 2015 rankings, and is considering offers from LSU, Nebraska, UCLA and USC.

If Broadus accepts Notre Dame’s scholarship, he will join fellow celebrity kid Jesse Bongiovi on the Fighting Irish squad. This should make homecoming even more exciting for fans, as proud dads Jon Bon Jovi and Snoop will probably compare notes during homecoming.
