As the Premier League transfer deadline shuts down Robbie Keane’s future with Tottenham Hotspur seems set for now after a suitable option failed to present itself during the latest transfer period.

Many rumors have been circulating over the past weeks about the Tottenham striker. Both Aston Villa and Newcastle were allegedly looking to snap up The Republic of Ireland captain.

Other rumblings included Keane and West Ham midfielder Scott Parker swapping clubs. However despite the rumor mills nothing materialized which leaves the striker at Spurs for this next season.

The Irish footballer’s career has been through a tumultuous period over the last two years with several switches between clubs. He moved to Spurs from Liverpool in 2009 only 6 months after he has made the reverse journey. Keane then proceeded to move to Celtic in January of this year on a loan basis.

The 30 year old striker will be staying put with Spurs for now until the next transfer window opens again in January.
