Yesterday Celtic manager Neil Lennon confirmed to the press he would like to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given on loan.

Celtic hope to strengthen their goalkeeping options following the sale of Artur Boruc to Fiorentina.

Lennon said that he's a firm admirer of Given and would definitely pursue a deal if City were willing to let him leave on loan.

"If it was a possibility then of course,” Lennon told the press. 'He’s one of the best keepers in the Premier League. We’ve been linked with a lot of players and there’s been speculation on a lot of players. I don’t really want to comment on players coming in or going out. I’m just concentrating on the game with Utrecht on Thursday.'
