Irish striker says Baggies will keep their feet firmly on the ground as international teammate Stephen Hunt predicts Long will move in January to club ‘he deserves.’

With 5 goals in 13 games and his team in third place in the Premier League, Irish soccer player Shane Long could be forgiven for getting ahead of himself. This is not going to happen however as the promising striker states that he and West Brom will not get complacent in their next few games against Swansea City and Stoke City.

Speaking to Fraser Coast Chronicle, Long says, ‘Swansea are a good passing team too and that should make it a good game to watch. We know we’ll get nothing easy. It’s good times at West Brom. But the further we’ll go, the more respect we’ll get off other teams and the harder it will be.’

Despite Long’s modesty, Irish teammate Stephen Hunt predicts big things for his former Reading colleague and predicts that Long may not be at West Brom for much longer.

Speaking to the Score.ie, Hunt said, ‘Shane has matured into a player that is good enough to go on now and play for a top three or four club. He is at his prime and is well capable of causing defenders hassle in the lone role, which suits him. In January, I think Pat Dolan, who is his agent, will be keen to get him the move he deserves.’
