2 p.m.: SF B Final Four Provinces vs. Cavan

THE opening game of the day is for the Senior B title. After a creative season with all teams in one group and then top four into the A semis with the second four into the B, we end up with last year's New York Champions Four Ps facing off with a perennial contender Cavan.

Four Ps have a good nucleus on hand to try and annex a second New York title, with David Doyle, Ciaran O'Donnell, the Moores, Mike Higgins, and Michael Grimes give them a solid foundation. The squad is immensely experienced and will not want to leave the town without silverware on Sunday evening.

Cavan have been close but no cigar for the last number of years. They won the KO cup last year and lost the final this season but have failed to crack the barrier in county championship finals. Kevin Smith, Brendan Reilly, Alan Carolan, Justin O'Halloran, Brian Newman and Tomo Smith give them possibly the best home-based squad in New York. It is the other team's sanctions that usually help to overcome Cavan.

This outing promises to be a close battle down to the wire, but Four Provinces should be able to prevail by two at the end.
