Robbie Keane has landed in Los Angeles and will make his debut for the Galaxy on Saturday night.
Keane and wife Claudine flew in from London on Thursday and were greeted as heroes by hundreds of fans at LAX airport.

“We all dream of a team of Robbie Keanes,” sang the supporters as Keane came through the arrivals area.

One fan, with a tricolor and wearing an Ireland shirt, presented Keane with an LA Galaxy scarf after his arrival on a two year deal.

The former Spurs striker will be officially unveiled at a press conference on Friday and will debut against the San Jose Earthquake in the MLS on Saturday evening.

“I am delighted to be here and I am looking forward to playing for the Galaxy,” said Keane after a 12 hour flight from England.

The Keanes had left London in designer tracksuits but changed into more fashionable clothing prior to their arrival in America.

Ireland’s record captain hopes to play against the Earthquake on Saturday night and is keen to help the Galaxy mount a serious challenge for the MLS title.

“Coming at this stage of the season is interesting because the Galaxy are doing well, and I want to help that continue,” Keane told Yahoo Sports.

“The club wants success and that is why I am here, too. Hopefully within a few months we are going to be going for the title.

“I am fit and hungry and ready to go. I hope that they will just throw me in the deep end and let me show what I can do.

“I know it will take a little time to adapt to a different team and a different league. Of course there will be a little difference in the style of play, but I am confident. I have produced everywhere I have been, and I want to get in there and start scoring goals.”
