The most popular baby names in Ireland for 2017 have been released by the Ireland’s Central Statistics Office (CSO). Did your baby’s name make the list?

Jack is once again in the top spot for the most popular name for boys born in Ireland.

The name fell to second place in 2016, but apart from that one year, Jack has been the most popular boys’ name in Ireland since 2007.

The second most popular boys' name was James, followed by Daniel, then Conor and Sean.

In the top spot again for girls’ names, Emily remains the most popular name in Ireland for seven years in a row.

Emma is the second most popular girls’ name, jumping from seventh place last year.

Amelia won the third spot on the list, followed by Grace and Sophie.
