At the end of an extra busy day’s dancing at the North American Irish Dancing Championships in Orlando, FL, it was time for the nightly awards ceremony.

Patrick Mello walked away with the Boys Under 10 trophy; he hails from Massachusetts. Shortly afterwards Lavin Cassidy took home the Girls Ceili U9 prize.

There were further prizegivings in the Girls celii prizes with Cashel Dennehy taking the Girls Ceili U11 category. Mullane Healy O’Brien won the Girls U9 mixed ceili, while dancers from The Harney Academy won the U9 mixed ceili prize.

The Smith Houlian School took the Girls Ceili U13 category, while the Marie Moore School of Dancing won the mixed ceili U13 award.

World Academy won the Figures Under 13, while Mullane Healy O’Brien took the Figures Under 13.The Harney Academy struck gold again, taking the Girls ceili U16. The Cashel Dennehy Wisconsin team took the Mixed Ceili U16 category.

John Whitehurst from the prestigious Carey Academy won the boys U11 medal, while Owen Luebbers (Broesler School) was victor in the boys U12.

Nathan Dale (Mullane Healy O’Brien) won the boys U13s, while Macauley Selwood from Birmingham, England, took the boys U14.Drew Lovejoy of the McGing Academy won the boys U15 tournament.

Joe Bitter and Lorcan Balfe then went on to win the under 16s and under 17s respectively, while ,Peter Ryan rounded off the boys’ medal-givings by taking the u18 first prize.

A troupe from the Cashel Dennehy School of Dancing won the girls ceili U16 prize, while the Harney Academy then went on to win the mixed U16s.

Finally the figure results: the McTaggert school of dance took the senior figure choreography prize, with O’Rourke (New York) then going on to win the ladies senior figure category. Finally, in the last result of the night Watter’s School(Florida) emerged victors for the dance drama awards.
