The three men who stabbed to death an Irish roofer and seriously injured his father in London were sentenced at the Old Bailey central criminal court yesterday.

According to the Kilburn Times, Luke Fitzpatrick, 25, was killed and his 56-year-old father Bernard was seriously injured and left to cradle his dying son in on May 19 last year.

Jurors heard Fitzpatrick, a devoted Arsenal football club fan, was watching the Champions League Final at the Ox and Gate pub when a hooded mob tried to storm the building.

Some of drinkers inside allegedly chased them but Fitzpatrick was fatally wounded in the altercation. When his father came to his aid he was also stabbed repeatedly as he tried to protect his son from the mob attack on May 19, 2012, but survived.

Christopher Walters, 23, received a life sentence for murdering Fitzpatrick. He must serve a minimum of 28 years, less the one year he has already spent on remand.

Loen Burton, 17, was also found guilty of murder and will serve a minimum of 17 years. He has already spent 301 days on remand.

Teenager Abdi Hassan, 17, was found guilty of manslaughter, and will serve 11 years detention in a young offenders institution.

They were also reportedly found guilty of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm in relation to Bernard Fitzpatrick.

Luke Fitzpatrick's family were all in court and reportedly cheered as the sentencing was read out.
