Taoiseach Micheál Martin's constituency office in the Turner’s Cross area of Cork City was vandalized in the early hours of Wednesday, June 18.

Photos and footage of the vandalism show red paint scrawled on the front of the building, with "Zionist Pawn" sprayed on a window.

The Irish Times reports that a notice posted on the door of the office claimed that the Government has been “complicit in the apartheid, occupation and genocide of the Palestinian people inflicted by Israel.”

"Anti-democratic"

While the Taoiseach has not publicly commented on the early-morning vandalism, a spokesperson for the Taoiseach confirmed the incident.

"I can confirm there was an act of vandalism on the constituency office last night, this is the third such attack," the spokesperson told RTÉ News on Wednesday.

"Personal threats have also previously been sent to the office, warning the Taoiseach it will be made impossible for him to navigate in public spaces.

"This is a working office with constituency staff acting on a daily basis to support the community on various issues.

"Those responsible for these criminal acts and intimidatory and abusive threats are fundamentally anti-democratic.

"We believe the vast majority of people who are appalled by the situation in Gaza would have nothing to do with such actions."

"Criminal damage"

When asked for comment regarding the vandalism at the Taoiseach's office in Co Cork, a spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told IrishCentral on Wednesday: “Gardaí received a report of an incident of criminal damage that occurred at a premises in the Turner’s Cross area of Cork city between 1am and 3am on Wednesday, 18th June 2025.

"A technical examination of the scene has been conducted."

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward, asking anyone who was in the Turner's Cross area between 12:30 am and 3 am on Wednesday morning and who may have any information to contact investigating Gardaí.

Gardaí have also appealed for anyone with camera footage (including dash-cam and mobile phone footage) to make that available to investigating Gardaí.

Gardaí can be contacted at Anglesea Street Garda Station on 021 452 2000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
