The Colorado owner of a Great Dane was shocked when her dog gave birth to an Irish green puppy.

The three-year-old Great Dane gave birth to nine healthy puppies. However, the eighth puppy was tinted green, ABC7 reports.

Green puppies are a rare phenomena that occur when a dog’s light-colored fur gets dyed by the green-pigmented bile in the mother’s placenta, called Biliverdin, when they are in the womb.
