Mayo come back to force a draw with huge favorites Dublin in a hugely exciting All Ireland Football final in Croke Park. A last minute point by Cillian O’Connor equalized the score at 2-9 to 15 points.

Mayo began the second half five points behind and looked down and out when two own goals in the first half left them looking typically like losers again on the biggest day having lost seven all Ireland football finals since their last victory in 1951.

Dublin were looking very likely winners leading by 0-3 points with only ten minutes to go but Mayo did a fantastic job coming back from almost certain defeat.

The drawn result was a fair outcome given the chances missed on both sides. The replay to take place in a couple of week s on Saturday October 1st will be widely awaited.
