Nolan-O’Slatarra died unexpectedly on August 5th at the Montauk Yacht Club on Long Island, New York. As reported by BreakingNews.ie, she was found unconscious on board a boat around midnight. A man discovered her and called for help, with two men from a nearby vessel performing CPR before emergency services arrived. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities in Suffolk County confirmed that a postmortem carried out by the county medical examiner’s office revealed no visible signs of injury. However, the results were deemed inconclusive, and investigators are awaiting further toxicology tests before determining the cause of death, according to The Irish Times.

The Suffolk County police are continuing their investigation, while the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin has confirmed it is providing consular support to her family.

Nolan-O’Slatarra, originally from Monacurragh, Co Carlow, built an impressive career both in Ireland and the U.S. Before emigrating in 2015, she worked in Ireland and later established East x East, a luxury fashion label specializing in sunglasses, swimwear, and resort wear. She also served as director of operations at investment firm K4 Capital and ran another fashion brand, Duper.

Friends and colleagues have remembered her as a vibrant, ambitious entrepreneur who maintained close ties to Carlow even while living in New York’s Upper East Side.

Her funeral on Wednesday is expected to draw large crowds, as her family, friends, and community prepare to say goodbye while awaiting answers in the ongoing investigation into her untimely death.
