Pop queen Katy Perry kicked off her massive world tour in Belfast last week.  The superstar spent a few days in the North in the run-up to her tour which will take in Europe, America and Australia before it wraps later this year.

Perry played two sold-out shows at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast last week before moving on to Scotland and Britain. Oddly her itinerary didn’t include a stop in Dublin, where she’s played before to wildly enthusiastic fans.

During her first show last Wednesday, Perry slugged a couple of sips of beer from a pint glass before handing the rest over to a fan.  She also grabbed a local and gave him a lap dance while singing her new song “Happy Birthday.”

Rather than celebrate the opening of her show at a posh club, Perry instead ordered £1,000 worth of chicken and all the trimmings from the popular take-away joint Nando’s.
