Clare hurling boss Davy Fitzgerald has reluctantly left the door open for his players to play hurling and football for the Banner county next season.

New Clare football boss Colm Collins wants to use dual stars and Fitzgerald has no objections.

The All-Ireland winning boss told Clare FM, “I’m not going to stop them but my honest opinion is I don’t think you can do both. It’s very hard to train for both codes flat out.

“At the same time I’m not going to stop them, I’m not going to drop them from the hurling panel if they want to try and do it.”
