It’s been a horrific few weeks for Boomtown Rat Bob Geldof since the sudden death of his daughter Peaches last month – a senseless ending from heroin, according to an inquest in Britain last week.

There are a few bright lights ahead, though.  On Sunday Geldof’s eldest daughter Fifi, 31, a PR executive who has always stayed away from the celebrity flame, announced her engagement to Andrew Robertson, a busking musician who also works as a “sand artist,” whatever that is.

Fifi posted a pic of her diamond on Instagram with the caption “boydonegood” on Sunday.  The Daily Mail says the wedding will take place in July of 2015.

Meanwhile, Bob himself has also decided to make it official with his long-time partner, French actress Jeanne Marine.  Their union was confirmed by Jeanne’s friend Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger’s ex-wife.

“Bob has proposed. She is over the moon,” Hall said.  “Jeanne Marine has been a rock and a tower of strength over [Peaches’ death]. I’m so excited for her … Bob and Jeanne have been through hell, but they are determined something positive will come out of it.”

They certainly could use some positivity after the preliminary inquest into Peaches’ death revealed that the heroin in her body was a “likely” cause of death.  Peaches unfortunately has followed in the footsteps of her mother Paula Yates, who died of a drug overdose in 2000.
