Good news for job seekers in Dublin today as Google announces plans to create a new operations centre in the capital which will generate 200 new jobs.

The new centre will focus on the technology firm’s location based products such as Google Maps and Google Local.

Speaking about the jobs announcement, Google's director of GEO operations in Europe David Martin said.  “The Dublin operations centre will primarily focus on our geographic based products to ensure a great local experience for our users across Europe. We are constantly seeking to improve and further develop our location based products and Dublin will now be a centre of excellence for this activity,".

Recruitment has already begun; the company is looking for entry-level graduates with minimal experience and strong IT skills. It is expected the centre will begin work later this year and will be located in the Eastpoint Business Park in the Docklands area of Dublin.

Google currently employs 1,500 people in Dublin. In April of this year Google was rated as the most reputable company operating in Ireland, according to the Ireland RepTrak 2010 study, released by Corporate Reputations.
