Dr. Peter F. Folan, who was appointed the 4th president and 12th head of Catholic Memorial School, West Roxbury, earlier in 2014, will be installed at an official ceremony on September 16.
The mass and installation ceremony Dr. Folan will be presided over by Father William P. Leahy, S.J., and takes place at the Ronald Perry Gymnasium, Catholic Memorial School.

He earned a Master’s degree in Education from the Lynch School at Boston College, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from BC's College of Arts & Sciences.
“It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I take what I have learned over my career in secondary schools, Boston College, and through my doctoral research in single-sex education to deepen the already outstanding work that occurs at Catholic Memorial each day,” Folan said.
Dr. Folan has 17 years of experience in secondary and higher education. He recently spent six years at Boston College, holding several leadership roles within the University's Mission and Ministry Office of First Year Experience, the College of Arts & Sciences, the Academic Advising Center, and the Office of the Dean of Students.
Prior to joining Boston College, Dr. Folan held a series of positions in the classroom and administration at Belmont Hill School, Belmont High School, Avon Old Farms, and Cambridge
Rindge and Latin. He was voted Teacher of the Year by students at Belmont High. He has extensive coaching experience in wrestling, track, and football and led several teams to league and New England championships.
The Belmont resident and his wife Karlyn, a former Catholic elementary school teacher, are the parents of two young children.
