Bohemian Football Club has confirmed that it has been in talks with the Palestinian Football Association and the Mission State of Palestine in Ireland since November over the prospect of hosting the Palestine national soccer team in a friendly at Dalymount Park.

The Dublin-based club said it is seeking a suitable date to host the fixture, adding that all proceeds from the game would go towards humanitarian causes.

"We have been in contact with the Palestinian FA for several months in attempts to arrange a friendly at Dalymount Park," the Irish club said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Talks are continuing, facilitated by @IrePalestine as we try find a suitable date.

"All proceeds would be used for humanitarian purposes."

Bohemians launched a Sports for Life jersey in support of Palestine last year, with 10% of proceeds from the shirt will help support children in the city of Tulkarem in the West Bank. The jersey remains on sale on the Bohemians website.

Several Irish politicians had previously called on the Irish international men's soccer team to play Palestine in a friendly, but FAI CEO Jonathan Hill said on Thursday that such a fixture would not be possible due to the lack of available dates across the international windows.

Hill said the FAI has subsequently turned to the prospect of hosting a friendly between Palestine and a League of Ireland club. However, the FAI's efforts are thought to be separate from Bohemians' attempts to organize a friendly, according to The42.ie.

Hill did not indicate if a single League of Ireland club or a side representing the clubs in the league would take part in the friendly.

Earlier in February, the Palestine national soccer team faced an invitation South African team in a "Football for Humanity" friendly in Cape Town.
