Stock in Naiade Resorts Ltd., the  hotel operator, which owns Legends Hotel in Mauritius has dropped sharply after the Michaela Harte murder.

The stock plummeted for a fourth day om the Indian stock exchange, dropping by 6.2 per cent yesterday on concerns about the future of the hotel after the murder.

Michaela  the daughter of Gaelic football manager Mickey Harte, was found strangled in her room at the Naiade-owned Legends hotel in on Jan. 10, Agence France-Presse reported. Three hotel workers have been arrested.

“The drop could be linked to the murder which took place in Legends, a four-star hotel belonging to the operator,” Imrith Ramtohul, a senior manager of investment at Mauritius Union Assurance Ltd., told Bloomberg news “Police has arrested three employees of that hotel and they have been provisionally charged. This security aspect might bring cancellations.”

Mauritius had been the top destination for Irish honeymooners fro several years but that is likely to change now after the blanket coverage of the death.
