Irish food and drink will be celebrated in New York this March at the FarePlate events celebrating what Ireland brings to the table, quite literally, when it comes to quality produce and sustainable fare.

This year, at the Refinery Rooftop in Manhattan a selection of Irish food and drink will be showcased while VIP ticket holders will enjoy the addition of innovated tasting plates, a featured cookbook and unique gifts.

FarePlate was first launched by Bridget Bray as an event to highlight Irish food and drink, and related products to the New York City market. With over 15 years in the food and event industry, and a passion for the artisanal / craft food and drink story, she formed a local New York Irish Food & Drink membership group, to build interest in this area.

The inaugural FarePlate took place last year with sponsors including Kerrygold, McGargles, OhArtagain, Teeling Whiskey, Ballymaloe, Cashel Blue, Healy’s Honey, Longueville Cider and Crafted Ireland.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, March 12, from 4pm to 8pm.

This year’s event will include:

- Market tables: Featuring various Irish food, drink and related companies offering tastings and/or brand literature.

- Food stations: Themed food stations presenting fare highlighting food and drink products drawing from Irish recipe inspiration.

- VIP Tasting Experience: Two VIP seatings offering uniquely crafted tasting menus highlighting food and drink products drawing from Irish recipe inspiration, featured event cookbook plus additional gifts.

- Special Feature: Roost Books; launch of new Irish cookbook “The Farmette Cookbook Recipes and Adventures from My Life on an Irish Farm” by Imen McDonnell, a contributing food and lifestyle writer and photographer for Conde Nast Traveler, and of the popular blog, Farmette. Her modern Irish recipes have also been featured in the New York Times, the Irish Times, Saveur and more. McDonnell will be on-site to provide a talk on her experiences, and a selection of her recipes will be featured at FarePlate.
