Magda Davitt (Sinéad O’Connor) has debuted the demo of her next new song “Milestones.”

Great news for Sinéad O’Connor fans as the popular Irish singer, now known by the name Magda Davitt, has released her first new music in four years.

The 51-year-old debuted the demo of her new track “Milestones” with The Irish Sun, announcing that we can expect a new album “No Mud No Lotus” in the relatively near future but not before October 2019.

You can listen to the song here.

The first new music from the singer since her 2014 album “I’m Not Bossy, I’m The Boss,” Davitt’s new album is being created alongside Northern Ireland dance man David Holmes, and is still far from being complete, the mother of four stressing to the Sun that this is simply a demo.

“David wrote the music. I wrote the lyrics and melody. This is just a first demo for fans because they never get to hear a demo. I thought it would be fun to share it,” she said.

It was The Pogues frontman Shane McGowan who got the pair together. Davitt said, “at Shane McGowan’s birthday show. He came up to me after I’d been singing and said come up to Belfast.

“It’s my favorite place on earth. David is lovely, and the kindest person I think I’ve ever met. Literally would give you the skin off his back, never mind the shirt.”

She now plans to keep writing and collaborating with others on the album, telling The Irish Sun, “I’m going to write on my own and with lots of other different people. It won’t be out before October 2019.”
