“I love annoying white supremacists,” says O'Connor

The Irish singer formerly known as Sinead O’Connor has shared a video explaining why she recently called white people “disgusting” on Twitter.

O’Connor, who now goes by the name Shuhada’ Davitt after converting to Islam, shared a video on November 10 explaining her rationale for calling white people disgusting.

“I don’t really hate white people,” said Davitt in a near whisper. “I just wanted to see if Twitter would close my account if I said I did.”

She added, “because they closed my account for saying I don't like nuns murdering babies in Ireland.”

Addressing the white supremacists who flocked to Davitt’s page in the wake of her initial comments, she said: “Clearly none of you can read, and you don’t spell very well either, by the way.”

"Up at the top of my page," she continues, "you’ll see I don't read replies, so there’s no point writing them."

In a later tweet, Davitt said she would soon be leaving Ireland to live in the UK:

Am returning to live in the UK in the next few weeks. Extraordinarily happy to be leaving D-Ireland. Subhan Allah.
