Samantha Mumba is celebrating a major milestone this Christmas after officially becoming a US citizen.
The Dublin-born singer and actress, 42, has lived in America for more than two decades and has now formally made the country she’s called home for years her own.
Samantha, who has been married to her American husband Torray Scales for almost 14 years, shared the news with fans after attending her citizenship ceremony alongside her family.
Posting photos from the day, Samantha was joined by her husband and their daughter Sage, who proudly waved small American flags during the ceremony.
Reflecting on the moment, she wrote: ‘Having lived here for half of my life… this has been a longggg time coming. New chapter, same roots. Officially a citizen!!#
The move marks a significant chapter for the Gotta Tell You singer, who relocated to the US in the early 2000s following her success as a teen star, going on to build a career in both music and acting stateside.

It was during her time in Los Angeles that she met her future husband, with the couple marrying in 2012 and later welcoming their daughter, now aged 10.
While Samantha has spent much of her adult life in the US, she has consistently spoken about the importance of maintaining her Irish identity and passing that connection on to her daughter. She has also made it clear that Ireland remains very much part of her family’s future plans.
Speaking to the Irish Independent earlier this year, Samantha revealed that she and her family are actively considering buying a home in Ireland as they continue to split their time between both countries.

‘It’s so crazy because I’m 42 now and I’ve lived in LA for as long as I’ve lived in Ireland essentially,’ she said.
'My husband is so ready to move over here, he just loves it. I’ve been saying for ages that I need to get a place here — I just need to stop scrolling on Daft and actually do it.’
