Seattle rap sensations Macklemore and Ryan Lewis turned their hands to speaking Irish when they visited Coláiste Lurgan, in Galway, to take part in their cover music video of the hit “Can’t Hold Us," as Gaelige.

Following the Irish college’s group Seo Linn’s massive hit with over two million views for their Irish cover version of Swedish DJ Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” it seems that the teenagers have hit the big time and are attracting big stars, with Irish roots. The “Thrift Shop” hit makers agreed to take part in the video after they were approached by the Irish students.

So far the Coláiste Lurgan students have covered Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky”, the cup song from “Pitch Perfect”, “Pompeii” by Bastille, Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”, Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” and now the Macklemore hit.

The Coláiste Lurgan students also had another boost when they performed in Ireland’s GAA HQ, Croke Park, as part of the warm up for the first Cork-Clare All-Ireland Senior Hurling final.

Students Keith Ó Briain, Cian Gormley and Ian Mac Gabhann feature as the rappers in their latest “Can’t Hold Us” video and Jenny Ní Ruiséil and Dáithí Ó Ruaidh star as the lead singers, reports the Irish Independent.
