Taylor Swift was the most-streamed artist in Ireland in 2023, according to music streaming platform Spotify.

Not only was Swift Ireland's most-streamed artist on Spotify in 2023, her album "Midnights" was the most-streamed album of the year in Ireland, with her other albums "Lover" and "1989" also ranking in the top five most-streamed.

Meanwhile, her song "Anti-Hero," released on her "Midnights" album, was one of the most-streamed songs of the year in Ireland.

Swift's success is no doubt thanks in large part to her fervently dedicated fanbase, nicknamed 'Swifties.'

Spotify said that "musically, 2023 was defined by the return of major female pop stars, sonic diversity that topped the charts, and a global music atmosphere that gave rise to powerful genres."

These global trends are evident in Ireland's most popular music and podcasts for 2023, according to Spotify data.

Not surprisingly, Taylor Swift, who will be taking her massively successful Eras tour to Dublin in June 2024, also dominated the global Spotify charts in 2023 and was the most-streamed artist on the planet, according to the streaming giant. 

Elsewhere, Puerto Rican rapper and Reggaeton artist Bad Bunny was the second-most streamed artist on Spotify in the world in 2023, with The Weeknd in third and Drake in fourth. Mexican singer Peso Plumo rounded out the top five. 

Flowers was also the most-streamed song in the world in 2023, followed by SZA’s “Kill Bill” and “As It Was” by Harry Styles. “Seven” by South Korean singer Jung Cook featuring Latto was in fourth, with “Ella Baila Sola” by Peso Plumo and Eslabon Armando in fifth. 

Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti” was the most-streamed album in the world, followed by "Midnights" and "SOS."
