France has just won its second World Cup since their 1998 title, much to the delight of French fans all over the world, even Dublin.

The game itself was not a close one, considering that Croatia’s Mario Mandzukic gave the French an own goal in the first few minutes of the match. The French then went on to dominate the game, ending up with a 4-2 victory as the final whistle went off.

Dublin’s city center became swarmed with ecstatic fans, which prompted Gardai (Irish police) to intervene as the fun resulted in a traffic nightmare on O’Connell street. All in all, the celebrations were in good fun and the Croats were great sports by joining their opponents in the festivities.

However, the scenes in Dublin were nothing compared to those on the streets of Paris, as over one million fans lined the Champs-Élysées to celebrate their hard-earned title as the best soccer team in the world.
