Dua Lipa, the Grammy-winning English popstar, has reportedly dropped her agent David Levy after he signed an open letter calling for Kneecap to be nixed from the Glastonbury musical festival due to their comments on Israel.

Levy's was the first of 34 signatures on the 'private' email sent to Glastonbury organizer Michael Eavis that was leaked in June.

The email sought to "raise awareness" about Kneecap in light of their headline-making performance at the Coachella music festival, where the trio accused Israel of committing genocide against the Palestinian people and displayed the phrase "F--k Israel."

According to Press TV, the email signed by Levy said in part: "...[Kneecap] continued to openly express support for two banned terrorist organisations in Hezbollah and Hamas, and whilst we all support free speech, we cannot accept it when it drifts into whipping up hateful rhetoric that is essentially denying Israel's right to exist..."

Despite the organized effort, Kneecap's performance at Glastonbury went ahead.

Now, a music industry source has told The Mail on Sunday that Dua Lipa, who has for a long time been pro-Palestinian, has dropped Levy over the email.

"Dua made sure through her people that David Levy wasn't working on her music anymore," the source said.

"She is very openly pro-Palestine and that doesn't align with David.

"She views him as being a supporter of Israel's war in Gaza, and the terrible treatment of the Palestinians and that was made very clear through the letter that he signed and sent to Michael Eavis."

The source told The Mail on Sunday that while Lipa has parted ways with Levy, she remains with the same talent company, William Morris Endeavor (WME), but is now represented by a different agent.

Responding to the report that Lipa dumped Levy, Kneecap offered one word on social media on Sunday: "Sayōnara."

Meanwhile, Kneecap member Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh - who performs under the stage name Mo Chara - has been charged with a terrorism offence in the UK, accused of displaying support for Hezbollah. He denies the accusation. Judge Paul Goldspring said he would give a decision on whether Ó hAnnaidh will face trial on September 26.
