Director Danny Boyle has said that he plans to me a sequel 1996 movie “Transpotting” starring Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, Johnnie Lee Miller and Kevin McKidd.

The movie, “Trainspotting”, was based on a novel by Irvine Welsh by the same name which tells the story of a group of heroin addicts.

Boyle said, speaking to Cinematical, "It will happen, I think…I mean, we'll approach them all again about it, but it will depend on what place they're all at. We have a very strong idea that it would be a wonderful thing to do again when they have aged clearly into a mid-life kind of crisis. They're not quite there yet, I don't think."

The second movie will follow the plot of Welsh’s follow- up novel “Porno”, loosely. In the past McGregor had said that he was not sure that the story of “Porno” is for the characters from “Trainspotting”, and Boyle agrees.

He said “The book 'Porno' is not a great book in the way that the original novel is genuinely a masterpiece - as a piece of writing. But we have been doing some work on it, and it's got potential, for sure. And when the moment's right, I think we will approach it."
