Chris O'Donnell's wife got pregnant for the fifth time because of a "miscommunication." Despite claiming he always wanted five children with wife Caroline Fentress, the actor - who played Robin in the movies 'Batman Forever' and 'Batman and Robin' - said he was shocked at her last pregnancy as he thought they would stop at four.

He said: "I always wanted five children, but when we got four I was like, 'Ok, we're done'. "Five was the only time we were really surprised. All along the way we were strategic about what we were doing and then, uh, a little miscommunication there."

However, 39-year-old Chris said he is happy the pair had a fifth child, daughter Maeve Frances - now two - a sister to Lily Anne, 10, nine-year-old Christopher Eugene, Charles McHugh, six, and Finley, three.

He added to Michigan Avenue Magazine: "We've got five and we couldn't be happier because Maeve is such a cute little girl." Chris recently revealed he has "grown up a little bit". He said: "I'm almost 40 years old now. But everyone was introduced to me when I was 18 and I looked like I was 15. "Before, I'd be cast as a young impressionable character. I think part of that is just being more mature."
