By a strange coincidence, Liam Neeson and British Prime Minister Theresa May found themselves staying in the same hotel in Northern Ireland, The Culloden, last week. Hilarity ensued.  

Neeson is in Belfast shooting a film called “Normal People”.

Neeson and the Prime Minister did not meet each other but with massive security and an A-list Hollywood star both at the hotel at the same time, there was lots of toing and froing.

All of which might have got to a nervous receptionist when someone asked her which room the Prime Minister was staying in.

“She’s under Liam Neeson” the reception person replied, leading to gales of laughter among all concerned.

There are a lot of women worldwide who no doubt wouldn’t mind being in that situation!

As for his movie, Neeson and Lesley Manville star as Tom and Joan, a married couple with an easy relationship and a depth of love which expresses itself through tenderness and humor. When Joan is diagnosed with breast cancer, the course of her treatment shines a light on their relationship as the pair face the challenges that lie ahead and the prospect of what might happen in the future.

While in Ireland Neeson also visited a boxing club for needy kids funded by American Ireland Fund Chairman John FitzPatrick and the Titanic Quarter, one of Belfast’s great tourist attractions.
