Karen's Diner, an Australian-American restaurant chain famed for its intentionally rude service, is set to open in Dublin in February 2024.

Named after the internet slang term "Karen" often used to describe stereotypically rude older women, Karen's Diner advertises "rude waiters" and the "worst service you'll ever receive."

The restaurant first opened in Sydney, Australia in 2021 and became a viral sensation on social media, especially TikTok and Instagram.

Now, the chain is set to open a new restaurant in Dublin in February.

"Who's next on the Karen's hitlist?!" the restaurant chain said on Instagram on December 11.

"Get ready DUBLIN, it's YOU - we're sick of your whinging and moaning, so we're heading your way in 2024.

"Think you're ready?! Not a chance, that Irish charm won't work on us."

The restaurant chain followed up in a subsequent post saying "It’s finally your time Dublin, the Karens are coming... to STAY!

"That’s right, we’re opening up Karen’s Diner right in the heart of Dublin from February 2024.

"We’ll be bringing you the infamous Karen’s service, cutting insults, games and more!"

Karen's Diner invited patrons to make early bookings online "if you're brave enough."

Karen's Diner restaurants are based on 1950s American-style diners and offer a menu featuring burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, fries, and chicken wings. The restaurants also offer cocktails and milkshakes.

Anyone named Karen who dines at the restaurant can receive a free drink if they show a valid ID.

The Irish Mirror reports that Karen's Diner plans to expand to Galway, Cork, Limerick, and Wexford in the coming months.

Although famed for its deliberately rude staff, Karen's Diner implements several strict rules, including no racist, sexist, homophobic, or ableist comments or slurs, no body shaming, as well as no sexual harassment.

The chain currently operates eight locations in the UK.
