A postman in County Wexford is being lauded for correctly delivering an envelope that had no address — just a hand-drawn map pointing to the letter’s intended recipient.

The Telegraph reports that the Hook Lighthouse, which is located at the tip of the Hook Peninsula and is one of the oldest lighthouses in the world, shared a photo of the letter on its Facebook page.

The letter shows a drawing of the lighthouse with the message “Here please.”

Inside the envelope was “A little note to say how much he liked the Hook Lighthouse.”

Hook Lighthouse wrote: “Fair play to our postman who managed to deliver this map drawn address from Red Dave #postiechallenge.”

The photo has been shared and liked hundreds of times, with one Facebook user writing: “Nice one! Most people think it's nuts that our addresses don't have a house number, street or postcode and the postman still gets it right, this takes the biscuit though!!! Brilliant.”

Last year, a postman successfully delivered a letter addressed to “your man with the glasses” in Donegal.
