A Change.org petition has been created calling for a redhead emoji to be added to Apple’s iPhone.

The iOS 8.3 update included access to many new racially-diverse emojis. However, gingers were left out of the family of 300 new symbols.

The omission inspired redhead interest website Ginger Parrot to take action. Their petition has now amassed over 10,000 signatures.

Back in March, as the petition started to gain momentum, Emma Kelly, who runs a website for redheads called Ginger Parrot, said  “I was looking through them and thought, hang on a second, there’s one missing here."

She continued "I can’t believe redheads didn’t even get one character in Apple’s openly ‘diversified’ collection of emoji. If you say you’re going to diversify, why not add a few ginger-haired emoji in the mix? Sure, we only make up less than 2% of the world’s population, but that is 138,000,000 iPhones waiting to happen."

If you’d like to see a red-haired emoji added to Apple’s line up, you can sign the petition here.
