A photo of a couple in Tipperary, posted to Twitter by their priest, shows that despite the weather the Irish can always keep a smile on their faces.

Although Storm Frank was on his way with yet another onslaught of rain and wind, this happy couple traveled to their wedding wedding through the floods on a trailer pulled by a quad bike. The happy couple – William Harding and Theresa Barry – was intent on making it to their party no matter what the weather had in store.

The photos were posted by Father Stephen Neill, who was part of the wedding, which took place at Lorrha Church, in Tipperary.

Neill told TheDailyEdge the couple was holding their reception at The Derg Inn, in Terryglass, but the route was flooded. Never fear! Emergency measures worked a charm.

The witty clergyman also tweeted:

My chosen text 4 today's wedding homily in Lorrha: 'Many waters cannot quench love - Neither can the floods drown it!' (Song of Solomon 8:7)
